As the title says and the recent current events, which would be in your opinion the safest stablecoin to keep our money in during those times? I feel uneasy to keep my capital in USDT after reading so much FUD about it. I m not interested
in speculation or FUD, i am looking for facts only. Terra USD was such a hyped promising stablecoin, yet it crashed to its death.
I could say that now it is really hard for one to believe anything what is said good about a project or another, once a trust is broken about strong projects i will be extracareful about what i keep my momey in. So what is your pick for the safest stablecoin and why?Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 05:39 #273774LegalSelf5
Well it’s not fucking Luna!Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 05:42 #273770DBRiMatt
Vitalik says “DAI, RAI and USDC are all the stablecoins we really need”.

Seeing as how a lot of this sub kept praising UST, I’d take anything that’s said here with a grain of saltSunday, May 15th, 2022 at 05:49 #273789thenudelman
Unpopular opinion? USDT. Has not undergone calamity just yet.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 05:49 #273773FootballBat69

USDC if you’re ultra-chadded.
DAI if you’re down for an algo stable that isn’t UST lol. DAI is mainly collateralized by ETH though so it’s got pros and cons – it’s kinda centralized, but ETH is chadded tbh (buy bitcoin dippies tho lol).
Alright let’s go deeper.
Don’t touch VAI. GUSD is eh, not bad but not bottom or top shelf.
You got interesting ones like RAI where I think it’s all onchain and purely collateralized by ETH. mids maybe. maybe danker.
BUSD isn’t bad and actually has some institutional verification regarding reserves. mids to top-shelf. centralized obvi tho.
USDT if you can handle some risk. long history tho. it’s the OG first stable from 2014 and actually has some decent ratings. reserves are audited and a lot of it is cheap chinese commercial paper, but that’s actually on par regarding financial liquidity markets and how things like currency (even outside of crypto) function – aka why stablecoins are the bridge between traditional finance and “decentralized finance”. that being said – USDT is as centralized as USDC – there’s just more trust in USDC, which is why I first suggested it if you’re looking to create your build around an ultra-chadded play-style.
if you don’t give a fuck about anything in this current life, then perhaps UST is the stablecoin of choice.
last choice is:
Buy the LUNA dip if you want 69,420x stamina, faith, and HP augmentations in the next life, as a demigod, post-reincarnation.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:05 #273765RevolutionaryTips93
My wallet I’ll have your coins pegged to every dollar of debt I have. Safe and secure. Trust me bro.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:06 #273775Wargizmo
Look at all these morons paying a dollar for their stablecoins when I can pick up a UST for just 19 cents.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:12 #273766DMCarter_
I personally use USDC, but you could also use DAI, BUSD, USDP, or TUSD.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:13 #273776piero_deckard
Not a stable coin, but the safest to leave your money in, that’s for sure!Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:14 #273767Rotarius88
USDC is your best friend for now. It’s about to take Tether’s place in the ranking very soon.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:15 #273764Wubbywub
question is why do you want to keep your dollars in stablecoins?
if it’s for some sort of yield, then the riskier one is usually the one with better yield. choose your risk to gains accordingly.
if its to prep for extremely timed dips (and limit orders) then just go for usdc or busd/gusd depending on which exchange. as long as they are usd backed.
if its for the tech (decentralized money), then dai
if its for periodic DCA into crypto, then just keep fiat and buy the coin itself each DCA sessionSunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:19 #273780YouGuysNeedTalos
Personally, I believe that algorithmic stablecoins need to have proper research behind them. This is because they need to be mathematically protected from all possible catastrophic scenarios. Which for example, UST was not.
I believe that ageUSD is such a protocol.
The other way is to have a proper exchange backed stablecoin that has proof of the reserves in dollars.Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 06:23 #273781genjitenji
