Centralized Cryptoexchanges are usually in a bad light and sometimes that’s understandable as they don’t have good-enough costumer support, are not ensembling what Crypto was meant to be and most importantly have too much power over your Crypto assets.
But still they are necessary for our mass adoption. I mean how many people did start with Crypto with a DEX? Obviously the easiest and sometimes simplest way is to go to an exchange, register and buy. Simple. Nearly all newcomers do it that way. Sometimes because it’s simple and sometimes because they are trusting better in stuff that has a person taking responsibility of it.
So saying that Crypto Exchanges should just all disappear is counterproductive and ignorant. Instead we should push them to make their costumers their actual priority. We should make them actually ensemble what Crypto was meant to be…Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205684orbofdeception

I think when people get introduced to DEXs they get scared and overwhelmed. I’m not going to lie some of these DEXs aren’t the most user friendly and their interface could use some help. Also you need to have knowledge or at least an understanding how it works. Which is why CEXs are more consumer friendly and more people start with that. I’ve been in the space for a while and have seen good and bad DEXs but recently I came across a DEX called fairyswap which I have to say everything is amazing not only because of its interface but what it has to offer.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205677Odysseus_Lannister
This isn’t really an unpopular opinion or anything CEXes satisfy the needs of almost everyone getting involved initially and remain a decent option for the technologically/knowledge disadvantagedThursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205678Odysseus_Lannister

Kraken is amazing, what are you talking about?Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205680Howitdobiglyboo
Honestly… I’d be perfectly OK with ‘maas adoption’ whatever that means dragging out longer. As long as robust decentralized technology would grow in the mean time. If crypto was forced into mining, staking and p2p for a longer time I’m sure some interesting developments would have taken place.
It’s not that I don’t like using CEXs, it’s just that they promote the use of crypto as a purely speculative asset… what else is the point if you’re only holding in on the exchange?Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205681therealist11

Good point, because I think there can be two segments, centralized and decentralized.
The reason I don’t like centralized is that entities will centralize everything to their own benefit.
I prefer to support projects that work to connect the metaverse to the real world through DeFI and NFT investment option, and one project that is working on that is QUINT.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205674Tatakae69
Yes but DEXs must exist too. Coexistence is important to achieve Decentralization in CryptoThursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205685yldf
I’m for letting people buy crypto using gift cards sold at supermarkets. That would be easiest and would secure the jobs of thousands of professional scammers.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205686Anand999
CEXes are the only way right now for small fish to play around with ERC20 tokens and not get rekt by gas fees.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205687Probably_notabot
I’ve got no issue with CEX’s. Use them as intended and then move your coins off them to protect yourself.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205688Probably_notabot

It’s not CEXs that are the problem, it’s unelected elites who see fit to impose their will because they think they’re better than you solely because they’re sat on a money printer.
It’s financial action task forces that “suggest” regulations.
It’s politicians who are corrupt and who have been bought by corporations or who let WEF members into the cabinet.
Its the 4th reich Nazi scum that is the WEF and the FATF and all these other NGO industrialists that come up with crazy plans that want to implement these rules.
To fight back, it starts with writing to your local politician, then escalate accordingly.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205690e3ee3
They are here to stay, but is the goal of cryptocurrency “mass adoption”?Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205691Stankoman

CEX’s are required, as you said, for growing adoption.Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205658relaxxed_
It’s all fun and games until you run into a problem and have to rely on their customer support for a resolvement. I think some CEX have a lot of improvement to do in terms of customer service if they want to contribute some more to mass adoption!Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 19:31 #205659kirtash93
CEX are crypto banks. They will stay here for sure.
