According to their president Nayib Bukele.November 2022 closes as the safest month in the entire history of El Salvador.
If we annualize the homicide rate for November, El Salvador (recently the most dangerous country in the world) would have 2.5 annual homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.
The safest country in LATAM.

El Salvador has transformed itself from being known as the birth place of MS13 to a nation Bitcoiners want to visit and invest in.

>to a nation Bitcoiners want to visit and invest in
I’ve heard this line used a few times now.
Sure, people are researching and talking about El Salvador.
But how many bitcoiners have actually gone and visited the country, because of Bitcoin?
I’m guessing that number is pretty close to zero.
I don’t mean to shit on a good news story, but let’s not overstate the positive impacts.

Really cool that El Salvador adopted bitcoin but let’s not forget that Nayib Bukele is hardly a good example. He is a semi-dictator, take this news with a generous pinch of salt

Now you’ll have to explain what this has to do with Bitcoin

Crypto crashed, everyone stayed in all bummed out and less people died.

What does the homicide rate have anything to do with Bitcoin?

Talk about cherry-picking a single month. Too bad the rest of the year isn’t as good.

Friendly reminder that Bukele is a cool crypto dictator this sub loves but a dictator nonetheless

“According to their president Nayib Bukele” – that’s important though. It’s authoritarian country with no completely free media etc, we just don’t know whether that’s true

It’s quite widely known that the homicide stats have been manipulated by the government since last year
