“Dear BTC.com.au family,
It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we announce BTC.com.au will be closing.
As you have all likely seen and heard in the media this week, there have been multiple market crashes in both the crypto and stock markets, and sadly we have been very hard hit in this volatile climate and it is not possible for us to continue operating…From today, we have paused all trading activity and deposits to your accounts – but of course, the ability to withdraw your funds safely out of our platform will remain active.
We will be keeping the platform alive until Friday, July 22nd to allow everyone time to finalise their accounts and to ensure everyone has downloaded their Trade Activity reports for tax purposes.
Thank you – all of you – for choosing BTC.com.au and for being part of our family.”

roughly one month to take care of everything? I guess some users will miss the date… it’s really bad if you have a gap in your trading historyFriday, June 17th, 2022 at 07:42 #310244jakekick1999
This just goes to show that trading fees even with high volumes are not enough to keep exchanges afloat. Its definitely sad to see exchanges like these go down. Plus they are even allowing everyone to withdraw and going down gracefully.
One of the victims of the bear marketFriday, June 17th, 2022 at 07:48 #310243MedstudentSHIB
Sad to see so many exchanges in big trouble, but I respect how this one is handling things. They stopped deposits and ur still able to withdraw and u can clearly see they care about their customers, unlike celcius for example. This is how it should be. Wish everyone the best of luck!Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 07:50 #310245metaversecom

At least they have the decency of telling customers publiclyFriday, June 17th, 2022 at 08:05 #310252HoughInkura
Very cool of them to let their users withdraw funds, it would be perfectly legal for them to hold onto every crypto coin stored in their walletsFriday, June 17th, 2022 at 08:06 #310253kirtash93

At least no user lost their funds because of the exchange …Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 08:09 #310255ShanktarDonetsk
Great to see they are allowing everyone to remove their funds and giving them plenty of time to do itFriday, June 17th, 2022 at 08:09 #310256Miinka
They’re only a small player here in Aus, but still sad to see. Just the first casualty in this bear market is my guess.Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 08:11 #310257MaximumSandwich5
I don’t understand why exchanges go bankrupt or need to close? Shouldn’t they act as purely a medium between buyers and sellers, and earn a fee from their trades? They can only be profitable in that scenario (assuming volume is good and it most certainly has been for a while for the space as a whole)
