I’m thinking yes but everywhere I search I get too much info not quite what I’m looking for from other blockchains….an example would be DOGE TV.
Just looking for leads so I can do some research. The question was prompted because I’m a boxing fan. A few of the biggest fights were not made because essentially Showtime is losing money… Paramount who owns Showtime is now under new executive management. They have decreased budgets and are thinking about keeping the showtime brand but distrubuting the content through their more profitable streaming products.
My biggest example of how this impacted a fight is with Errol Spence and Terrence Crawford. The two fighters are considered the #3 and #1 ranked boxers in welterweight and would be fighting for the undisputed championship being that these two fighters hold all the major sanctioning bodies belts. Pirating has destroyed the PPV model for this type of event although it would have probably achieved somewhere around a million buys 5 years ago.
I know TMI… Just wondering if people are working on a better model where boxers and other athletes can leverage their popularity in a more direct to customer format cutting out showtime, ESPN, and DAZN.
Just curious about what’s being developed…
