Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, without a central bank or single administrator, that can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries.

- Automate DCA BTC purchases to Cold Storage Hi All, I'm curious to learn more about automating BTC purchases to cold storage. For example, how would that work? Do any companies currently do that? Thanks!

- What would happen to BTC network if the Transatlantic Communication Cable was severed? I'm learning about networks in school and I recently became curious about what would happen to the BTC network if the "Internet" somehow collapsed, fully or partially. For example, what would happen if the transatlantic communication cable (and all other submarining cables) were severed, essentially isolating the different networks that make up the internet? Since there would be no connection between Europe and the United States, how would these two parts of the BTC network continue on if they are unable to communicate with each other? Would transactions within those separate isolated networks be merged together seamlessly once the network connection was restored? How would this network disconnect affect instances where someone in the US was trying to send/receive BTC to/from someone in Europe? I realize scenarios like this are minimized by the existence of other ISP services like Starlink, but for the sake of the thought experiment I am curious what would happen if satellite internet services were not in the picture. Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm still learning :)

- How to “clean” your BTC if you have purchased KYC? Hey everyone. I’ve only used Coinbase in the past, but I’d like to own my BTC anonymously. I know you can purchase non-KYC from DEX’s but how do I clean my BTC that I’ve already purchased through Coinbase? Do I need a new wallet or what do I do? TYIA

- Where to learn more about the debates behind updates? I just read that there will be a new update for bitcoin released soon. Where can I learn more about the process behind the updates? I'm not talking about the code; rather, is there a conversation thread where people discuss potential updates? I'm interested to see how this democratic process works/how the ideas in the updates win the debates.

- Underappreciated Content Creator I recently came across this channel called [tip_nz](https://youtube.com/@tip_nz). She makes a lot of cool and fast paced songs and videos about bitcoin. They are really great and I instantly subscribed. But I was surprised to see the low view count and low subscriber numbers. I think she deserves more. So I am just trying to bring her content to everyones notice. We need more great creators like her. Cheers.

- Problem: trusted third parties are security holes. Solution: DEX. Failed exchanges: Bitcoinica, Bitfloor, MtGox, Cryptsy, BTC-e, QuadrigaCX, Celsius, Blockfi, FTX, Voyager.... The list is long and will continue to grow. When will we learn? There is a solution: stop giving your bitcoin to centralized exchanges! You can buy or sell BTC using **decentralized exchanges**. You will not hear about them so much because they do little marketing, but they exist. Learn about them!

- Easy Double Down I'm now even more convinced that FTX and SBF were/are part of a much bigger operation and am now more curious as to why others not only disagree but adamantly disagree. I could be wrong but if I had to put a number on it 90% sure Gov officials broke laws in helping FTX and SMF 80% sure the SEC was aware of what was going on and turned a blind eye. 100% sure journalists have been instructed to push a narrative about SBF or FTX. 70% SBF will face no punishment and that will be accepted by 99% of the population. Consider it in these terms. SBF directly lied to customers and stole their money rather than operate a profitable risk free business taking fees so they could pull the biggest financial scam we have ever seen in broad daylight. His parents, mom the founder of a large political pact to which millions have been donated by SBF and his circle and his father "*a well-connected professor at Stanford Law. While Fried was more involved in the political side of SBF’s operation, Bankman was heavily involved in the business itself, including helping to raise funds to finance the firm. Bankman is a leading* [*expert*](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.17310/ntj.2004.4.08) *on state and federal tax shelters, and some in the cryptocurrency space have speculated that he might have used his expertise to create the corporate structure (see below) of his son’s offshore financial firms."* A house is also in their name which is suspicious regardless of how you look at it. They are experts in their fields, well connected to Gov officials and never even thought at any point something was going on. I don't care how you think this happened, I can promise you the two people that would know that this is something they would want to avoid even if they fully believed FTX was legit would be his parents. It's not like they only knew their son from how he was presented to the rest of the world. Looking at SBFs past interviews now and his outright refusal to answer what he's asked there is no way he parents weren't aware of what was going on. Caroline Ellison's father worked with Gensler when they both [taught at MIT.](https://news.mit.edu/2021/gary-gensler-nominated-chair-sec-0119) The majority of Maxine waters committee is compromised and involved with FTX and we are just supposed to assume NONE of these high ranking people ever thought to insulate themselves in anyway? In the business world the entire executive team of large companies work very hard to not even give the appearance of wrongdoing even in situations they know nothing is going on. What's even crazier is the fact what FTX exploited just so happened to be something that we now know, knowledgeable people in finance or the crypto space knew was possible. What I mean is anyone who understood this could have designed specific steps to create a semi sustainable situation where FTX was essentially creating money out of thin air while inflating its value. Spending hundreds of millions on homes and donations. Oddly they were 'hacked' and the accounts emptied last minute. The New York Times is hosting SBF at their conference? These 13 or 20 kids in no way were capable of running this operation and in no way is it believable they could. Can someone please tell me where I'm wrong here?

- How can BTC have a fixed supply? When i told my dad about Bitcoins fixed supply and how the central banks on the other hand keep printing money, he said more people need more money. He‘s not wrong is he? Especially if BTC should act as the world‘s reserve currency in the future. What do i tell him?

- Don’t say they were lucky Back in 2021 when BTC was on its bullrun, I thought those who bought at 3-5k were so lucky. Now that I’m experiencing my first true bear market, I can see that they deserved what they got in the bullrun. The fud, the overwhelming bearish sentiment, and people calling you stupid for buying bitcoin cus it’s a scam and going to zero. When BTC sees it’s next bullrun, please don’t call those who bought/accumulated at these prices lucky.

- Anonymize bitcoin? So I've been buying btc from one of the centralised exchanges for some time now. Every time my bitcoin adds up to e.g. 0.1 BTC - I withdraw to my cold storage address. The exchange is a KYC-exchange, so obviously my cold storage address can be directly linked to my identity. It bothers me a little as I'd like to minimize the amount of people and entites that know about my bitcoin. Should I really be bothered by this? If yes, what should I do to anonymize my btc? Is any of you really bothered by this or am I just being overly cautios?

- concerns regarding BTC core’s latest release As some of you may have heard, BTC core is releasing a pretty controversial update and I wanna know other's opinions on it. So the update consists in enabling full rbf on mempools so that nodes can reject transactions at will. The developers say that this is to mitigate businesses who rely on zero confirmation transactions and should be using lightning instead. Since when is it acceptable to adapt the layer 1 to work better with a layer 2? Shouldn't be the other way around? If this measure gets adopted by most nodes, BTC will no longer be censorship resistant.

Does he evidence against some politician and thats stopping him being in Jail right now? This doesnt add up to be honest. He also has a NYT speech he will be making along with guys like Gates. He doesnt deserve to be anywhere near a great innovator and man like gates, he needs to be locked up in jail.

- Why are youtubers who promoted Ftx/Blockfi not talking about it? Honest question because it's blowing my mind. In the internet crash, 20 years ago, this couldn't happen. There wasn't a youtuber promoting pets.com or any internet company. Youtube didn't exist. Companies couldn't attract investors with this technology. But with the Crypto crash there are hundreds of youtubers who promoted ftx, blockfi and others. And they affected thousands or millions of common people. Maybe they didn't know about the ftx and Blockfi situation. What I'm saying is that they just don't recognize their mistakes or they aren't transparent and say how much were they getting to promote these platforms. And yet, there hundreds of youtubers who chose not to promote these platforms. THE POINT It's amazing that these guys just keep making videos and forget their suscribers. If you followed their "suggestions" you would be in a pretty bad situation. How many guys trusted these youtubers? I mean this one (video link) literally says "I promise". How is this possible? No one cares? Youtubers don't care? And how is it possible that suscribers keep watching their videos? https://youtube.com/shorts/aQggae9IHpw?feature=share

- Still Safe to Buy from Coinbase? And move to hardware wallet as soon as possible? I think it takes about 3-5 days for a bank transfer to go through before you can move BTC off Coinbase, but I think the USD is insured while they hold it so wouldn't it be safe to send USD to Coinbase, wait til it clears, buy BTC, and immediately transfer to hardware wallet? To the scammers: Don't PM me. I'm not going to entertain you you dumb fuckers.
